Hi!
I’m Eleanor Szydlowska, a freelance illustrator based on the wirral peninsula, in the UK
It all started when I played a second hand copy of Final Fantasy X as a child, and ever since then I’ve been obsessed with storytelling.
I’ve worked in illustration and filmmaking, working with clients such as Convenience Gallery, Comics Youth CIC, Tyneside Cinema and BBC Arts. You can find my short film HAV on BBC iPlayer, and with the published graphic novel adaptation, which I scripted and illustrated, available through Marginal Publishing.
Within my illustration work, I’m interested in engaging audiences with compelling narratives & distinctive visuals, even if they can err on the surreal side. I enjoy creating vibrant & bright artworks, using bold colours and rich textures to create visuals that jump off the page.
I love things that evoke a deep sense of emotion, whether it be a good story, a tucked away archival photograph, or a blustery winter's day looking out to sea.
When I’m not drawing, I’m usually shooting a roll of film, in a local cafe or out on my bike!
