Hi - I’m Eleanor Szydlowska!
I'm a freelance illustrator who is currently studying Character animation at masters level.
based in east london, from the wirral peninsula (wedged between Wales & liverpool).
It all started when I played a second hand copy of Final Fantasy X as a child, ever since then I’ve been obsessed with storytelling.
I’ve worked in illustration and filmmaking, working with clients such as Convenience Gallery, Comics Youth CIC, Tyneside Cinema and BBC Arts. You can find my short film HAV on BBC iPlayer, and with the published graphic novel adaptation, which I scripted and illustrated, available through Marginal Publishing.
I've been commissioned to create comics, posters, and develop workshops aimed at engaging young people with their creativity.
Within my creative work, I’m interested in engaging audiences with compelling narratives & distinctive visuals, which often use surreal imagery to express poignant messages.
I enjoy creating vibrant & bright artworks, using bold colours and rich textures to create visuals that jump off the page and pull viewers in.
I love things that evoke a deep sense of emotion, whether it be a good story, a tucked away archival photograph, or a blustery winter's day looking out to sea.
When I’m not drawing, I’m usually shooting a roll of film, in a local cafe or swimming in a lido.
